The Algo test, a screening test to control the hearing of your child, is performed on every child in the second and fourth week after birth. This test is fast and does not hurt, and does help to detect deafness early.
Possible illness of your child can be appear as following: the baby drinks much less than usual, the baby, is less responsive, the baby has a fever. Contact your GP or a paediatrician if you are worried. Babies can get seriously ill quite quickly. You can also call your midwife during the first few weeks after birth; she will then refer you to the appropriate doctor
Vaccinations are injections that your child will get during the first years of his/her life, to prevent it from ill from certain diseases. In Vlaanderen, some vaccinations are obligatory, while other are voluntarily.
