Certain diseases can be inherited from one or both parents. It may be important to know this before becoming pregnant, because you may give it to your baby. Sometimes it may be necessary to do tests during your pregnancy (with your approval).
You could suffer from certain diseases, like diabetes, high blood pressure, nerve, heart or lung disease. This does not mean you cannot get pregnant. It does mean that you should consult your doctor to optimize your health and control your disease as much as possible before and during your pregnancy.
Certain medications can affect the health of your baby. Always consult your doctor if you use prescribed medications and want to get pregnant or when you are pregnant and want/need to take medication.
