Whistleblower Hotline

Artevelde University of Applied Sciences aims to provide a work environment of integrity and safety. Still, as an employee or external party, you may be confronted with irregularities or issues that you question. In the first instance, please discuss this with the person(s) involved or your immediate supervisor. If this is not an option or does not provide relief, in certain cases you can contact the Whistleblower Internal Hotline.

What is the Whistleblower Hotline for?

What can you report?

You can report a file when you have suspicions about, for example:

  • Public procurement procedures are not properly followed or are being circumvented.

  •  Rules on food safety are not respected. 

  • Personal data are not handled with care as prescribed by the privacy regulations (GDPR).

  • European funds received by Artevelde UAS are used for other purposes than those for which they are intended

Who can file a report?

Every individual that is associated with the Artevelde University of Applied Sciences in the context of a work relation: both employees and external parties.

This reporting procedure does not apply to students.

How do you file a report?

Via the internal hotline

As a member of Katholiek Onderwijs Vlaanderen, the Artevelde University of Applied Sciences is affiliated with the relevant internal hotline.

Can a report through the internal hotline not be handled effectively? Or is there a real risk of retaliation? Then you can turn to the college van regeringscommissarissen.

Persons who obstruct or attempt to obstruct a report or who violate the confidentiality of the identity of reporters, will be subject to sanctions. This also applies to people who knowingly report or disclose false information.

To what extent are you protected as an informer?

As a reporter, you fall under the protection of the decree. This means that neither the Artevelde University of Applied Sciences nor its employees may retaliate or threaten to retaliate in any form.

This protection applies provided that there are reasonable grounds to believe that the information reported is accurate at the time of the report and that it falls within the scope of the decree.

This reporting procedure is in line with the Decreet tot bescherming van klokkenluiders in het onderwijs in de Vlaamse Gemeenschap of June 21, 2023.
