Arteveldehogeschool and Integraal vzw (Liantis training institute Entrepreneurship 50+) are conducting research into the (future) aspirations, attitudes, reservations, motives and/or resistance of people approaching or just about to retire with regard to continuing to work or (re)starting a (new) career after retirement.

The objective of this research is to develop an adapted service to adequately respond to the needs of (these) people who would like to (continue to) work after retirement or who want to start a totally new job, be it as a salaried employee, self-employed entrepreneur or freelancer.

Such a service and focus does not yet exist. It is, as it were, about restarting a (new) career, after the first career: an After Work restart, full of motivation and drive, that feels "like a party": an After Work Starty.

The focus of our innovation project is to explore a new service for near and newly retired people with a view to maximising renewed labour market opportunities after retirement. The final objective is increased participation in the labour market of a growing potential (re)employable workforce, for those who wish and aspire to do so.

This newly launched research follows the principles of Design Thinking and is currently in the 'discovery phase'. 107 exploratory interviews and 18 in-depth interviews were conducted with people who are part of the final target group, and a survey is ongoing in which you can still participate if you are close to or already retired: https://forms.gle/RicGoJZVniJZHksLA.

Don't hesitate to further distribute this survey too!
