Double date: a new model for detection and follow-up of psychosocial risk factors and problems at two pivotal moments in traditional perinatal care, a pilot design in Flanders
The King Baudouin Foundation has approved the project proposal 'Double date: a new model for detection and follow-up of psychosocial risk factors and problems at two pivotal moments in the traditional perinatal care trajectory, a pilot design in Flanders' in the framework of the project call 'Sustainable and local cooperation for better perinatal family support'.
The research will be taken up by University College Leuven-Limburg and Arteveldehogeschool. The former will work closely with the Jessa Hospital in Hasselt. The second with the Jan Palfijn hospital in Ghent.
This research starts from the observation that the increasing child poverty in Flanders leads to more and more pregnant women with a psychosocially vulnerable profile. Early and systematic detection of psychosocial risk factors during pregnancy allows problems to be tackled early. To date, this is insufficiently done.
