Reflection- Education- Care (REC) is a European project to strengthen collaborative and reflective practice and increase quality services in early childhood education and care (ECEC).

Aim: implementation of reflection groups in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC)

Implementing group reflection in a sustainable and effective way in care and education for greater well-being for all children and families.

Approach: professional learning communities

Building professional learning communities that increase the reflective competences of staff by experimenting with concrete reflection methods (WANDA, video coaching and peer observation).

In Flanders, together with VBJK, we opt  for the specific focus of connecting teams in out-of-school care and pre-primary education through reflection groups. Children's educators, kindergarten teachers and coordinators meet every six weeks and reflect on their practice in a group. As such, they work together towards a holistic EDUCARE approach in early childhood education and care.

Partners

Within REC we work together with these partners: Partners Hungary Foundation (Hungary) (coordinator) , VBJK (Belgium), Open Academy Step by Step (Croatia) and ERI, Pedagoski Institut (Slovenia)
