In what way can social work organizations in an urban context use the four-quadrant model and storytelling in their operations to be able to have a politicking effect? This PWO valorisation project builds on a past Erasmus+ project with partners from the field (CAW East Flanders) and the social colleges of Helsinki, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. The material already developed will be tested and made available to the professional field on a study day on 16-18 November 2022. The material created will be distributed via an online platform.

The project is based on the theories of the Danish geographer and economist Flyberg  who, based on the ideas of Aristotle, developed a new socially relevant theory for social work: phronesis (practical wisdom). From Phronetic research, the researcher (in this case the social worker) starts from a value-driven story (storytelling) with a focus on the 'how' and the 'why' question. Phronetic research therefore always starts from questions about values and power. Within the framework of the recent Erasmus project Urban SOS, a four-quadrant model was developed that was developed as a useful tool for social work.
