Artevelde University of Applied Sciences celebrates its 25th anniversary

25 years ago today, the memorandum of association of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences was signed. Since that day, we have been creating tomorrow's world together with strong study programmes, impactful research, and services tailored to the professional field and society.

On 12 December 2000, the new university of applied sciences came into being when four local educational institutions merged. Former president Johan Veeckman and honorary chairmen Erik De Lembre and Tony Van Parys were present at the founding of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences. At the time, former president Tomas Legrand was also already active at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences.

And they were not the only ones who were already there. No less than 146 staff members were there from the beginning. That means that 10 % of all staff members have been working at Artevelde UAS for at least 25 years.

Look back with pride

Artevelde University of Applied Sciences will continue creating tomorrow's world in the coming years. With strong study programmes, impactful research, and tailored services, we are looking forward to what the future will bring. Now we proudly look back on our many achievements and we thank everyone who has been part of our special journey.
