3ID Labs
3IDS Labs was a course where you received training in an open learning environment with 24/7 access. You could develop tailor-made solutions for real challenges. This boosted your self-confidence, taught you how to present with impact and collaborate with people in a different discipline.
3ID Labs is no longer organized at Arteveldehogeschool.
Problem-solving, self-management and working with people are three of the four skill categories that are in the top ten skills needed for the future.
In this course you learned how to manage yourself and how to become skilled at working effectively and efficiently in diverse teams. You learned to work in a team while devising a solution to a social or ecological challenge using a human-centered approach (design thinking). The main goals of 3ID LABS were to teach you the skills to become a competent new professional with T-shaped skills and to function in self-managing teams.
3ID LABS was based on an interdisciplinary, international and intergenerational approach (3 I's) and was a pre-incubator where students started from wicked real-life challenges and worked towards a concrete solution. The cases we worked on were supported by organizations outside Artevelde University College and were all linked to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 2019, the course won the Gentrepreneur Award for Inspiring Initiative!
Target audience
3ID LABS was open to all bachelor's, master's and PhD students who completed at least 100 credits. 3ID LABS could be part of a curriculum or taken on top of it.
