Creating opportunities for persons with dementia to engage as volunteers
Participating in society is important and valuable for everyone, including persons with dementia and their family members. On this project page you can explore how you can create opportunities for persons with dementia to engage as volunteers, using a positive, appreciative, participatory, and competence-based approach. This project page is directed towards both the person with dementia and their context, as well as the (prospective) employer.
We aim, through the expertise network 'Health and Care,' to work together with practical efforts towards an inclusive society where individuals with dementia are empowered in their familiar neighborhoods. We intend to sensitize/activate employers and demonstrate that these individuals, despite their dementia, also possess talents that can be utilized.
