DBias: Why does our brain mislead us with fake news and what can we do about it?

Recognizing fake news often fails

Fake news, we are bombarded with it every day. This is also the case with viewing guides and step-by-step plans that teach us to deal with disinformation alertly and critically. They are only partly good tools, research by the Erasmus+ project DeFacto showed because our brain cheats us.

DBias follow-up on the effect and awareness of prejudices

With the DBias follow-up project, we are building further on this research with project partners from Bulgaria, Turkey, the UK, the Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia and Belgium. We demonstrate the functioning of implicit and cognitive biases (cognitive biases) and develop strategies for awareness together with immediately applicable material for education and beyond.
