Developing training of the future for care and welfare sector
With the ESF project 'Training for the future', we are focusing on the theme of healthcare. We want to develop training for both the healthcare and welfare sectors in Flanders. Both sectors are undergoing transformation. New questions and trends in healthcare also require new knowledge and skills. We want to respond to that very concretely.
The demand for (health) care is increasing, shifting, among other things, from acute, short-term care to chronic, long-term (home) care in a highly fragmented and often high-tech digital care landscape.
This trend requires:
- Digital skills of healthcare providers at all levels to enable interdisciplinary collaboration across first-, second- and third-line care (subtopic 1)
- Knowledge of healthcare technologies to ensure continued quality of care (subtheme 2)
- Psychosocial skills to ensure the agility of healthcare providers in a landscape facing labour shortages and high burnout risks (subtopic 3)
The training courses we are developing in this project aim at a number of competence shifts that enable the realisation of an optimal connection between student and employee training and the social, organisational and technological evolutions in the healthcare sector.
A total of 12 training courses will be developed and grouped into the three sub-themes. The training topics were chosen based on the known needs in the field and the expertise of the partner network.
Subtheme 1: digital skills
- digital health skills
- digital skills level 4-5
- digital skills level 6-7
- electronic patient record
Subtheme 2: technology in healthcare
- introduction: (high)tech in healthcare
- assitive tech
- immersive tech
- 3D prototyping
Subtheme 3: psychosocial skills
- resilience
- transgressive behaviour
- full partnership
- changemakers
