In this project, Catholic Education Flanders, Arteveldehogeschool and Karel de Grote Hogeschool are joining forces with the support of VLAIO (Agentschap Innoveren & Ondernemen). In cocreation with a number of secondary pilot schools, the consortium is developing a guidance programme that takes teachers' digital competences, including media literacy and cybersecurity, to the next level. The end goal is to increase pupils' digital skills.

Steps counselling process

Thirty pilot schools are being mentored throughout the project. The aim is to reach 1,800 teachers.

  1. The guidance starts with an intake interview to gain insight into the vision, functioning and needs of the school.
  2. This is followed by a scan for teachers and pupils concerning ICT use and competences (Digisnap). The ICT policy plan is also included in this initial phase.
  3. Based on the information obtained, priorities are set together and an action plan is drawn up.
  4. The project staff provide targeted professionalisation courses with a focus on pearlearning.
  5. Focus groups with teachers are organised to measure the effect of the professionalisations on the shop floor.
