What is an evidence-based practice guideline?
An evidence-based guideline is a source of information with recommendations based on an up-to-date, complete and objective assessment of the available scientific evidence. It lists possible options or choices of approach that are discussed with the patient and on which a joint decision is made ("shared decision making").
Development of practice guideline for podiatrists
In this project, we are developing an evidence-based clinical practice guideline for podiatrists.
The practice guideline will include recommendations and a red flag list that will allow podiatrists to decide, when a patient's alarm signals, whether to:
- can treat themselves;
- need to refer to a doctor.
