Role of digitisation in healthcare

Technology plays a major role in tomorrow's care. The Health and Care Research and Innovation Centre of Arteveldehogeschool is therefore committed to practice-oriented scientific research projects that can promote the flow of existing and emerging technology from science and developers to care. These technological innovations remove limits from care or increase the impact of care.

How can healthcare implement digital education sustainably?

Several healthcare organisations wish to use technology to sustain the learning effect of their in-house training courses. In this, they are looking for technologies that best answer their training needs. In addition, they are also looking for the best ways to implement such technology-supported training offerings in the organisation.

Therefore, this project looks for answers to these questions:

How can we increase the sustainable impact of formation of caregivers?
What are the implementation conditions for technology-supported sustainable formation?

In order to answer the question "How can we implement technology-enhanced education sustainably?".

During the academic year 2022-2023, Arteveldehogeschool will join forces with partners from the professional field to take up the challenge together to answer these questions.

Research method

Meanwhile, the first steps of the investigation have already been taken. Following actions have already been taken:

A quick search of the (inter)national literature on the sustainable impact of technology-assisted training;
Focus group discussions with various care providers and support services from home nursing, a psychiatric hospital and a residential care centre on the implementation conditions of training;
Prototypes of technology-supported training or a technology-supported training component;
Testing of the prototypes by our partners' caregivers;
Face-to-face interviews to generate feedback.
