Through this open view on movement within the school context, we want to encourage schools to make optimal use of the opportunities of movement in the school context. In other words, opportunities for, by, with, ... movement to offer preschoolers sustainable and powerful learning environments for preschoolers.
In the current project, the method of educational design research is applied to answer the following research question: 'What are the characteristics of a coaching program for schools in which good practices illustrate and inspire how movement can be the starting point in order to achieve sustainable and powerful learning environments for toddlers?'
The findings of this project were summarized in a book. This book is the result of the findings of this project, combined with the co-financing project Stem & Movement: an integrated approach. The book was developed in the valorisation process.
Valorisation
Within the PWO project 'School in Movement', the aim was to optimize the offer and supervision of movement within kindergartens.
In short, seeing opportunities and exploiting them. Although the project initially only highlighted the exercise offer from a health perspective, it soon became clear that the value of exercise can be much broader.
The project results were translated into a vision that schools can use to develop their own school vision on movement.
Within this project, good practices were developed in collaboration with the participating schools as an illustration of a framework for 'School in motion'. Subsequently, a refresher course for teachers in pre-primary education was also developed.
We have written down the insights and results of the PWO project School in Movement in a basic book about the place and power of movement in primary schools. The book zooms in on a sustainable implementation of exercise in primary schools. Furthermore, a refresher course will also be outlined, supplemented with an illustration of the vision by means of some inspiring good practices.
