Students with hearing loss in the classroom

Due to early detection, early treatment and current technological possibilities, most children with hearing loss will follow regular education in 2023. They therefore sit together in class with their hearing peers.

Specific educational needs due to new working methods

However, despite optimal auditory correction and interdisciplinary guidance, they have specific educational needs.

Moreover, innovation in education does not stand still. Digital work forms are increasingly being embedded in the classroom.

It is often used:

  • audiovisual material;
  • difficult working methods (e.g. group work);
  • blended learning.

Support for teachers

With this project we want teachers to:

  • informing about the educational needs of students with hearing loss;
  • provided with specific digital teaching materials tailored to students with hearing loss.

Website for students and teachers

This project results in a website with:

  • a forum for hard of hearing students and teachers;
  • tips and tricks;
  • an open platform for uploading and downloading teaching materials.
