Tech4HRM: a strong human resources policy through technological innovations
Healthcare organizations continue to struggle with staff shortages. This has negative consequences for clients and puts a burden on all employees. With Tech4HRM, Arteveldehogeschool wants to do something about this: make organizations stronger through technological innovations.
With Tech4HRM, Arteveldehogeschool wants to empower organizations to attract and retain staff by:
- Organizing effective in-house training using technology and providing tools and methodologies to do so;
- Efficient and purposeful onboarding, e.g. through self-created VR or podcast.
What does Tech4HRM consist of?
The staff shortage is caused by a decreased inflow and increased outflow of staff in the organization. Fewer people are choosing healthcare jobs. Jobs look less attractive. The outflow is higher because starters need to get in quickly. Often they do not keep the job or there is sick leave because they feel "overwhelmed" by the job. They feel insufficiently prepared for the job: they have not sufficiently mastered the approach to clients and the operation of the department is not clear enough. HRM departments can use the InVorm4You-tech implementation guide to see if in-house training can be enriched with technology. From research, podcast and virtual reality (VR) can add value. Each technology has its uses with certain training needs.
