WWWell-being 2.0. Strength and vulnerability of using social networking sites in welfare work
A substantiated working method for the use of social network sites in welfare work does not yet exist. It offers opportunities to communicate with target groups and professionals, but these have not yet been properly mapped out.
In this project we therefore want to ask welfare workers with web 2.0 experience from Flanders about relevant applications and introduce Flemish welfare workers to these applications in order to investigate which knowledge, skill and attitude thresholds are experienced. We make use of existing inventories of useful social networking sites. This search for good practices in welfare work and the specific possibilities and barriers to implementing them in welfare work should result in an innovative manual for the use of social network sites in welfare work.
In addition to the already developed know-how on chat support, the PWO research 'Optimail', in which we develop methodology on e-mail support (policy) and the recommendations on online support developments in 'Support, dreams and thresholds for online support in Flemish welfare work', this project is a relevant extension to a third interactive online help tool and tool that can promote/increase professionalization, relevant for welfare workers.
