Xited: Future-oriented media through XR and the metaverse
In a time where technological progress continues to push the boundaries of human interaction with media, the 'Xited' project takes center stage in researching the enhancement of the media experience through immersive technologies. With a focus on innovative technologies such as extended reality and metaverse applications, this project explores how the integration of augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR), and the metaverse can provide valuable additions to the experiences of media users.
This project aims to investigate how the experience of media users can be enhanced through immersive media, such as extended reality and metaverse applications. Through product development research involving media users, we will examine how immersive experiences create added value for media consumers. We explore applications in augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR), and the metaverse. This development project contributes to the digital transformation of the magazine sector. The project is a collaboration between Roularta Media Group, Immersive Media Agency Yondr, and the expertise center Communication, Media, and Design of Artevelde University College.
