The test can be used within the math skills test and consists of a theoretical part and a practical part in which children are asked to carry out measurement assignments effectively. During the test, it is observed how the child acts and measures, but also which thinking steps the child takes to arrive at a calculation-measurement action. It was decided to include only the subject matter measuring and measuring arithmetic.
The test can be used in action-oriented diagnostics (HGC) and in the differential diagnosis (by subtypes) of dyscalculia, the evaluation of therapeutic and care interventions in measuring math and in determining the level of measuring math per grade.
The achievements of this PWO consist of the development of the TMMR fourth grade with both theoretical and practical tests, the test manual, the test scores and the answer key. The test was designed and adapted in different versions on the basis of the mathematics attainment targets, the mathematics curricula from the different networks and the feedback from teachers and math therapists, in addition to the consultation of different calculation methods.
The test items cover the subject matter length, weight, content, time, money, temperature for the fourth grade, there is a clear shift in complexity of the exercises and in gradation of the cognitive processing of the exercises.
A pilot test was distributed in the field and the SIG intervision working group for arithmetic disorders and was found to be valid.
The psychometric requirements of a standardized measuring instrument ( standard CONAN ) were taken as the basis for the development of the test, such as standardization, validity with both content validity and construct validity, reproducibility or reliability with special attention to the internal consistency of the test.
After the test development, the standardization phase could be started. In a representative sample of 432 children from the fourth grade in various educational networks, the test was taken by occupational therapy students as part of their bachelor's thesis.
The parents signed an informed consent and the teacher completed a questionnaire about the child with regard to the presence of problems, extra help for math and the grades of the pupil tracking system for fourth grade math. The data were entered into a database in the statistical program SPSS.
The data processing and descriptive statistics have shown that the measuring and measuring arithmetic test is a valid, reliable and consistent measuring instrument that checks measuring and measuring arithmetic in the fourth year.
