In short
How can Flemish schools better implement inclusive education, primary care and enhanced care? This practice-oriented research translates an internationally recognised guideline from the Education Endowment Foundation to the Flemish context. Existing Leerpunt toolkits are expanded with inclusive strategies, offering teachers accessible and evidence-based support.
Need and relevance
Inclusive education is a policy priority in Flanders, yet teachers often lack concrete tools to apply it in daily practice. Recent research shows significant knowledge gaps and limited transfer of evidence-based insights to classrooms. There is a clear need for accessible, practical and contextualised resources to support primary and enhanced care.
From approach to impact
This project:
translates the EEF guideline Special Educational Needs in Mainstream Schools to the Flemish education context;
expands existing Leerpunt toolkits with inclusive strategies;
involves education professionals through focus groups and co-creation;
applies the ADAPTE methodology to ensure quality and relevance.
Expected impact? Teachers gain useful tools, schools strengthen their inclusive care policy, and pupils with specific educational needs benefit from sustainable, inclusive learning environments.
