Qualitative bilingual education Dutch - Flemish Sign Language (VGT)
This project includes the scientific research into the effectiveness of bilingual education (Dutch/Flemish Sign Language) for VGT-speaking children and its practical implementation, with the aim of supporting a qualitative form of organisation in Flanders.
The consortium will examine which organisational form(s) can be considered effective, which are workable in the Flemish context, and how high-quality language development of both languages (Dutch-VTB) can be guaranteed. Also, didactic issues related to language learning of VGT-speaking children will be addressed. The study will result in a research report, a practical guide and policy advice.
