Minister Vandeurzen is strongly committed to this strategically with 10 policy actions, including “Stimulating attention to the quality of online help” (Bocklandt, et al., 2014; Vandeurzen, 2015).

Many tools have already been developed, including recently Onlinedagboek.be. This tool was developed technically in a previous Tetra project (IWT) and is widely used in various sectors in mental health care, welfare work and education. As a first step towards using these online diaries as qualitatively as possible within blended aid, a methodical manual was also developed in the Tetra project. This methodical manual contains the most important 'red threads', but lacks depth and, above all, practical tools for drawing up substantive high-quality online diaries (questions).

Through  a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the diaries from the development phase of onlinedagboek.be and an in-depth study into online diary use  we want to answer the following question: "How can online diaries be drafted in terms of content so that they can be used as a high-quality instrument in blended care?'.

The results will add depth and substantiation to the methodology manual and, above all, result in research-based recommendations for drawing up online diaries.

Valorisation

In the valorisation process of the PWO project Quality work with online diaries  a blended learning package is being designed that consists of short thematic modules about working with online diaries. Possible themes are: determining goals, drawing up, discussing and using diaries with the client, asking the right questions and setting output.

The modules are made available via a web platform to:

  • care providers who are starting to work with the online diary,
  • participants in the postgraduate online help for welfare and health' and further training module 'media literacy and online help method training'
  • students from bachelor of social work ‘deelolod online social work’
  • participants in tailor-made training

The modules contain a combination of testimonial videos, interactive powerpoints, checklists, a brainstorming tool and exercises. In addition to the e-learning tools, the blended learning package also contains instructions on how supervisors can use these e-learning tools in face-to-face training sessions or intervisions.
