Services

What can the media library help you with?

We are happy to support you in your search for relevant information, both on-site at the five locations and through the media library portal. At the media libraries, you can:

  • Access and borrow materials, also as an external visitor.
  • Work individually or in group
Please note: for group work, please reserve a room through Rezervejo.
  • Study in silence during the exam period
  • Meet each other in cosy sitting areas
  • Attend tailor-made information sessions
  • Print , scan and copy

The media library portal is your gateway to our entire physical and digital collection, databases and game guide.

Physical collection

You can borrow most of the materials in our physical collection using your student or staff ID card, or your identity card (external visitors).

What can you find in the media libraries?

  • Books (fiction and non-fiction)
  • Teaching methods
  • Educational games and biomedical models
  • Bachelor's theses
  • Laptops, tablets, headsets, etc. > Please note: reserve these materials beforehand through Rezervejo
  • Professional journals, magazines, newspapers and textbooks can be read on-site but cannot be borrowed.

Specific borrowing information for each media library can be found through the FAQ on the media library portal.

Educational game materials

Take a look at our Game Guide and choose a suitable game for your internship, teaching assignment, coaching interview or for your own use. Refine by theme, type of game, language and target group.

Or book a tailor-made training for inspiration.

Digital collection

The media library portal gives you access not only to our physical collection, but also to an extensive digital media library. Tip: as an Artevelde UAS student or staff member, always sign in to see your login information.

  • EDS allows you to search our largest and most important databases in one go, including SpringerLink, Elsevier Science Direct, Cinahl, Medline, Academic Search, Business Source, Communication Source and ERIC. You will find academic articles, e-books, videos, etc. Additionally, you can search many subject-specific databases through the 'Digital collection’.
  • Consult recent articles or the archives of online newspapers and magazines. You can access the press databases Belgapress and Nexis Uni to search multiple national and international newspapers and magazines.
  • Through the media library portal, Artevelde UAS students and staff members have access to a variety of digital teaching methods. This includes online textbooks, manuals and extra teaching materials for primary and secondary school teachers.

Access to databases outside Artevelde UAS

As a student or staff member, you can also access most databases and other resources accessible via IP coverage off campus.

Purchase suggestion - Staff collection – Interlibrary Loan

Do you have a purchase suggestion for the library collection? Please use this form.

Artevelde UAS staff members can request the purchase of a book on the staff collection budget. The department board manages this budget. The media library processes the approved requests.

As a student or staff member, you can request a book or article from another library through Interlibrary Loan.
