Education focused on growth
We don't just train our students to become full-fledged professionals; we also hope to develop strong personalities, adequately prepared to tackle all the challenges tomorrow's world might bring. We support all our students and work hard to help them acquire the necessary resilience, knowledge and skills, academically and personally.
Our expert lecturers, researchers and support staff play an essential role in this. Together we form a close-knit Artevelde UAS community, but always looking outwards. Through our teaching, research and services, we keep our community engaged so that we can move towards a genuinely sustainable society.

Artevelde UAS has experts in very diverse disciplines. Therefore, we grouped them into five expertise networks for education, research and various services:

At home in Ghent
In our hometown Ghent, we have the world at our feet. Artevelde University of Applied Sciences has twelve campuses all over town and a total student population of 15,000. Believe us when we say it's a wonderful city for students. The city council is doing everything possible to make students feel at home.
Ghent University Association
Artevelde UAS occupies a special place in the higher education landscape of Flanders, as the only free university college in the cross-network University Ghent Association. The cooperation with our main university partner, Ghent University, ensures that students can easily switch between programmes and that many facilities are jointly available. We have a similar partnership with KdG University of Applied Sciences in Antwerp.
International network
At the same time, the Artevelde community is globally active. We invest in sustainable global partnerships in education, research and services and evolve increasingly into a 'European' University of Applied Sciences.
As the front-runner among university colleges in Flanders in the number of Erasmus students, we also look beyond the well-known European mobility programmes and create a high-quality global offer.
Outside Europe, the institution has opted for a strategic network consisting of five partner countries: the strategic alliances.
Future-proof
Within Artevelde UAS, innovation is at the top of our agenda. Through our education, research and services, we want to respond to today's issues and tomorrow's challenges.
We train our students to become flexible professionals who can adapt to the changing needs of the professional field and propagate an innovative mindset. An essential aspect of this is actively encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship.
As an organisation, we are evolving towards a more agile, future-proof university of applied sciences. We aspire to be more results-oriented without giving up our identity as a people-oriented university.
