Flight ahead: increasing self-reliance of refugees through volunteering
The two-year project Flight Ahead explores how volunteering works as a means of integration for asylum seekers and recognised refugees. By promoting the socio-professional self-reliance of refugees and what are critical success factors and pitfalls in doing so. These are examined at the level of the refugee himself, his or her family and at the level of organisations offering volunteering for refugees.
Study day
What can volunteering do for me? Do I have to declare my volunteer allowance somewhere? Can I volunteer without a residence permit? This seminar will answer these and other questions if you want to guide refugees towards volunteering as an organisation, as a facilitator or as an engaged citizen. We present a guide, a checklist and a collection of inspiring stories. At the study morning we will also let refugees and volunteer organisations talk about their experiences.
