Testing ground for qualifying workplace learning

An experienced partnership of actors from the policy domains of Education and Work is exploring this through a living lab with three vocational and/or qualifying pathways and the participating companies.

1. Preparatory phase

In a first, preparatory phase, we survey:

  • the current working adults in Arteveldehogeschool's three-year graduate courses taught via distance learning and the companies in which they are active;
  • the professionally active PACT students and the companies in which they are active.

The comprehensive results database provides representative recommendations for the second phase.

2. Implementation phase

In this implementation phase, the accumulated insights and recommendations are applied on the shop floor and in educational practice.

Because of the major impact on the organisation of the form and content of our courses, it is necessary to limit the number of pilot courses. To monitor this properly and feasibly, we chose to apply the insights in:

  • two teaching and vocationally qualifying graduate programmes;
  • one vocationally qualifying PACT course.
